When you see someone doing something that you woul

When you see someone doing something that you wouldn’t do, it doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t do it.

I choose to asses and take minimised risks with my children in order to live a enriched life of adventure. I always take precautions and stay within my own ability and experience.

The top moaned about comment is putting my kids in their car seats with snow suits on and having them all foreword facing 🤦🏻‍♀️ honestly have you tried getting 3 car seats to fit in a row and taking snow suits and boots off 3 small kids when you live at 2100m above sea level! 😂 🥶

To be fair most of these comments come from Facebook and not the wonderful community that we have on TORI.SKI Instagram.

It used to upset me, but over time socail media has taught me that although I’m happy to learn and improve, I can 100% trust my own judgement knowing that I am always doing what I feel is best at the time for my own family.

and just because they say they wouldn’t, doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t!

I didn’t know whether to laugh or tell him off.

I didn’t know whether to teach him how to do it better or tell him to not do that again.

It’s not just about the skiing—it’s about the quality moments we share. The fun, the connection, and the memories we create together. It’s about being outside, exploring, bonding, and showing her that the world is full of adventure, while teaching her she can trust me to keep her safe as we explore.

Yes, the risks are higher than a trip to a kiddies’ soft play, but as her mother (also a diploma qualified ski teacher), I’m fully capable of carefully assessing those risks, taking every precaution, staying within my own skills and abilities, and making choices that I believe will enrich her life.

Just a funny one for the weekend 🥔

It’s a great way to keep fit over the winter months, outdoors in the fresh air, pushing sac of potatoes sized toddlers around the ski hills.

I love it!

Skiing as a family of 6 was fun, but it took a lot

Skiing as a family of 6 was fun, but it took a lot of planing effort, there were meltdowns and it’s a challenge to find terrain that pleases everybody with kids age 2 to 18!

It’s not something we will do every week, but it was a wonderful experience to all slide and ride together. Thanks to the amazing ski resort of Tignes who puts together these children’s adventure ski runs.

Expertly filmed by Adventure Assistent Abba who has been supporting our family and TORI.SKI since the start of the winter ski season.

Who knows maybe next time we do it I can get on that lift over that next mountain and go to that restaurant that’s great for the kids. We will see!

Such simple things to remember when skiing with small children but so easy to forget with all our ski gear on.

👀 Visible Eyes
🙌🏼 Visible Hands

It’s crucial for toddlers to clearly see my eyes and facial expressions, as well as my hands, especially during their first ski sessions.

This visibility helps them feel safe, builds trust, and ensures their safety on the slopes.

By maintaining clear eye contact and bare hand movements, I create a supportive and trustworthy environment and connection where children can confidently learn and enjoy skiing.

🥶 🧤 I get that sometimes it’s cold, so I keep hand warmers in my gloves and warm my hands up when it’s not necessary for them to be out.

Once we have a strong happy vibe going and they know and trust me well I may then start to wear my gloves and goggles more. 😎

Wow my biggest baby boy is 19! He’s grown up to

Wow my biggest baby boy is 19! He’s grown up to be a charming, polite, bilingual, intelligent young man and my favourite race around ski buddy and I’m still young and fit enough to keep up with him!

I was pregnant with Ossie Bear when I was 17, I was very ready to be a Mummy and I wanted to show the world that teenage parents can do a fantastic job at raising children too.

When Ossie was little we traveled, climbed mountains and skied most days. Just the 2 of us. Ossie became a junior ski racer just like I was and I really enjoyed taking him to all the races around Europe that I used to compete in myself.

He’s now a freestyle skier and enjoying university studying computers and cyber security 💻 and a fantastic big brother to his 3 little brothers and sister.
