Every day feels like a blessing when you’re doing what you love. Grateful for the journey that brought me here and excited for everything ahead.

We are so grateful for our 4 beautiful children, but we will always remember that we celebrated the joy of our growing family 6 times.

In the depths of our despair, I wish I had known that we had done nothing wrong. I wish I had known that 1 in 4 families experience this too. I wish I had understood that my body hadn’t ‘failed me’—it was simply something that wasn’t meant to be.

I also wish that during those long, painful days in the hospital, waiting for answers, there had been more support and information for couples navigating this kind of loss.

I’m sharing this to help raise awareness about pregnancy loss and to let anyone who has experienced it know: you’ve done nothing wrong. You are not alone. And I hope, like me, you’ll have a family photo with your rainbow babies smiling too.

Skiing with toddlers is all about connection, care, and having FUN on the slopes! 🏔️❄️ Sharing the joy of skiing with a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old sisters smiling their way through their first slides—is such a special experience. 💕🎿

Here’s my philosophy: The connection between a ski teacher and a toddler is so important. But the teacher’s role isn’t to ‘teach’ in the traditional sense. It’s about supporting them, keeping them safe, caring for them, and looking after their wants and needs as they discover skiing in their own way.

When you get the fundamentals right—helping kids feel important, showing them they’re genuinely liked, building trust, and making sure they feel cared for—they’ll learn more about skiing than anyone could ever formally teach them. And the best part? They’ll LOVE it! 🥰

With little skiers, it’s important to know when to call it a day. Stopping while they’re still smiling leaves them eager to hit the slopes again next time.

Maintaining a strong connection with the little skier means you’ll notice their cues when they’ve had enough. They often won’t say it, but you can sense it.

Ending on a high note keeps the experience positive and strengthens their love for skiing—even if it means carrying them back to the hotel.

Ocean was fine, he was just shocked and lucky Mummy was down hill from him to stop him from sliding on a steep hill.

I would love to get the message out to more that if you see a little skier please give them lots of space. They are often unpredictable, learning their safety skills and more likely to traverse a slope for longer than you’re expecting.

But here’s how you can help your little skier stay safer…

❄️ Encourage your child to look up the hill before stopping or starting

❄️ Encourage them to keep a consistence rhythm and not make any erratic turns

❄️ If they come back onto the piste from the off piste or come to a joining piste they must always look up and make sure that it’s clear

Honestly, skiing with my children is one of the most magical and rewarding things I’ve ever done. Moments like these—sliding together, laughing, and spinning on the fresh fallen snow—are memories I’ll treasure forever. ❄️❤️

Over the years, skiing with my own 4 children (and 100s of other families’ little ones too!), I’ve picked up plenty of tips, tricks, and skills to help teach kids to ski happily. But if I could give just one piece of advice, it’s this:

✨ YOUR VIBE IS EVERYTHING ✨

Be happy, be present, and make it fun. High happy vibes are the most important skill you’ll ever need to help your little ones fall in love with skiing. 🥰⛷️

When choosing terrain I:
❄️Find the quietest, flattest, and safest place.
❄️Start lower down the hill if necessary.
❄️Traverse the hill slightly (if it is safe to do so).
❄️Ensure there is a flat run-out to come to a natural stop.
❄️If a perfect quiet, flat piece of terrain isn’t available, I consider breaking a run into smaller sections (stopping and resetting to start again).
❄️I wish for the little skier to be as independent as they can safely be while on skis, so choosing the right terrain is very important. When I choose the right terrain, the toddler will not need me to hold them, only to be very close by and catch them if they fall.

Set Expectations LOW
If on the first sessions all they do is:
❄️Put on skis and take them right back off again, that is progress.
❄️Ski 2 meters and then stop, this is progress.
❄️Walk around in their ski boots without even putting skis on, this is progress.
❄️Go around the bunny hill once, this is progress.
❄️Only watch other people enjoying skiing, this is progress.

Set Vibe HIGH
❄️A child new to skiing, who doesn’t yet know what it’s all about, can only be as excited about skiing as we are about them trying it. Before we start, we set our intentions for the session and remember that we are here doing this only because it is a fun thing to do.
